This truck was a creative re-make of an old college project I had created my senior year of school. After watching a video of an old modified 1970's era Peterbilt 359 brought back to life after sitting for years, I wanted to keep the style of the truck and all of the unique parts. The real truck was used as reference while creating my own paint scheme, creating new parts for areas I couldn't see, and custom logos .
I wanted to include the truck as part of a scene to further place it as a old champion of the long haul trucking life. I referenced old truck stops and service stations from the 1970's era for the fuel pump and street light. The scene was a lot of fun to make but not as fun as getting deep and dirty texturing the truck to give it all appearance of years of hard work and long road trips.
This project was also an exploration on using and working with the Specular, Gloss workflow instead of using the normal Metallic, Roughtness. Working with a new workflow was refreshing!
